New Sheep?

All the excitement was on Wednesday night. The sheep got sheared. I let them out today and tried to take some pictures while they were still in the small pen. The girls were real interested in the dogs. They look like new sheep. I hardly recognize them.

This is my poor little Pia. Doesn't she look pathetic? She is so small. I think she needs to put on a few pounds. (Hey, Nance, What do you think?) She is still as lively as before, but it sure is hard to tell if they are getting enough food until after they are sheared. It is a bad picture of her; she is usually not hunched like that.

That's one spring task done. I bet you are happy. I'm not quite there. It's still snowing and our 6 months of winter isn't over yet.

From that photo, Pia doesn't look thin. Her sister, Chance, is the smallest ewe in my flock, so maybe she's just going to be tiny. Of course, a few extra little treats, snuck in when no one else is looking, sure wouldn't hurt....

They are lookin good. They are interested in the dogs as long as there is a nice fence between but the dogs are telling them who's boss! LOL

I was SO relieved to get my shearing done (still have my llama to do yet though). I would think that they would really appreciate getting that itchy wool off....but a few of mine have that same look as your Pia!!

Oh my, they do look different after being sheared! I don't have sheep or goats, but i have a cat that is long haired and get sheared every year. She goes from being beautiful with her long, flowing hair, to being cute. But I can't tell if she's getting thin or not until she is sheared. That hair hides a lot! She gets her lion's cut next week and I'll post some pics on my blog.
